im thinking i wish i wasnt such a walking neurological disaster that had to be on guard from my trauma-addled neurotic ego CONSTANTLY. i can be having a great day and the second it gets in the driving seat its off on some ******* weird, wonderful and destructive thought process bearing not one iota to whatever im doing in the here and now and desperate to drag me kicking and screaming to some lonely comfortable emotionless island where it can be comfortable in its misery. ******* BS is what it is, frankly its getting boring now

I wish I could get into the 'shoegaze' genre of music. I can't feel it though. It's like trying to listen to a T.V. show playing in another room: muffled with broken bits and pieces of indiscernible audio.

Sounds like something I would have been into when I was younger, had I known about it.

I understand the sound though, familiar with it. That bitter pang of agony, mixed with the sweetness of it's sorrow and longing... Being there can be difficult though..

Why is everyone so obsessed with the "popular" people of high school? Do you all not realize that most of them end up in the same crapfest of life that the unpopular people end up in sometimes? It's not about who you were in high school, it's about how hard you work....or how many excuses you make.
It’s sad really and a little embarrassing to see a not then popular person still trying to associate with a then popular person. Usually the popular person doesn’t even remember the other person.

I agree. I mean, maybe I just don't fully understand it....my high school graduating class was like 19 kids. There were the "class" systems with the popular people and the nerds and people did get bullied, but it wasn't like the crap that happens in bigger schools. We all talked to each other, we all knew each other. I hung out with everyone, I could fit into whatever group I was talking to (my youngest son is like that too), so I kind of got to see it from every side and honestly, with literally every group, it came down to trying too hard to look cool.
Anyway, given what I think bigger schools are like, why would you want to be these people? They seem like major dicks. I just don't understand it. As an adult, a lot of people shy away from those types, bully those types (at least behind their backs), so why the hell are they so appealing to so many when we are younger? It doesn't make any sense. Fit in where you fit in, find the people you belong with and say F off to those that you don't. It doesn't matter how "cool" they are seen as by the rest of society, it matters that those are your people.

I dont get it either, didn't want to come across as a pile on..... but is it a wish fulfilment kind of thing or some sort of networking thing from the past? Kind of like how the student government kids would "help" each other out, please note I use that term loosely.

That must have been really nice.
Small towns seem like great places to grow up. And grow old.
Small towns aren't as great as people think they are. Sure, they are nice in a lot of aspects, but literally EVERYONE knows all your business. You can't hide **** in a small town. lol
And then of course you have the gossip that isn't true that spreads all over town

Big towns suck too.
And everyone in school (at least) will know that you are a loser to be targeted for humiliations.
Ask me how I know...

Never thought that small of a town would still exist nowadays.... though I'm not as well traveled as I would like to be.
