I've just been unfortunate to meet men who are more interested in looks than anything else, but being on this forum has certainly reminded me that awesome people exist :)

Indeed!

Just out of curiosity, which section of the book shop would you find a guy most approachable / appealing?

PS - After some thought this will be really useful for a new story idea I have...

Most appealing hmmm...probably non fiction/popular science because I know very little about that genre and would love to learn about it from someone who knew more.

Do people actually meet in bookshops? I never really understood this advice. I can't imagine going there specifically to meet someone. If I go in I usually have a pretty good idea of what I want to buy and it takes me less than 5 minutes to get in and get out. But that might just be a guy thing as most of my shopping is the same way.

pretty women do get my attention but I soon lose it if I find they are boring, ignorant or arrogant.

I like women who are interesting and interested. Smiles go a long way too !

the last woman I took a shine to was over 50 and over weight. But I like talking to her. She had a lovely personality !

Hahaha that's kind of impressive Kamya, 5 mins :D

But yes this whole bookshop thing has worked for me at least. Its easier to strike up a conversation with a stranger when its about something in particular like books.

And its kind of easier for a girl I suppose. Like you could be browsing in the same aisle and smile at the guy who is also there and it wouldn't be as creepy as just smiling at rand guys from a table at a cafe for example. And all it takes is a smile because usually the guys would start talking to you after that.

Duff -respect!!!
