I discovered an application called Lamour in google playstore few days ago

It feels like an old yahoo messenger , lol

3 dollars for a 1 month chat enabled subscription

I hope i can find some friends from it

I used to use OkCupid which was great until some absolute ****** got my account deleted. It seems dating site staff don't check to see if reported members have actually done the thing they got reported for so I just kinda got banned even though I didn't do anything. I honestly hope whoever got me banned has terrible luck in their next romantic endeavour. OkCupid is the only one that really made sense to me but the profiles are an arseache to make again because of all the questions so I'm not even gonna bother. -_-

I have tried many applications before in the hopes of making new friends online , but most of them have lots of restrictions and are very expensive to use .

This one looked nice , It has lots of members , all of the them very active .

I might try OkCupid soon just to see what it offers .

I don´t used them unless I checked how faked they are. A week ago, I checked badoo and it´s false as those I checked before. Believed or not, Twitter might serve from the same "need" at not cost like any site devote to "pen pals".

Have tried many. Many, many, many, including ones already mentioned here like OkCupid. None of them have been any good. When someone does respond, they are always just scammers spinning the same old lines .. often word for word .. or they are just trying to promote their Instagram, Snapchat, or webcam site. All after money anyway.

I've tried many dating apps, which have mostly just been a waste of time. It all feels so fake, forced and repetitive. But then again, you never know, you might get lucky. Some people do. Just like in real life, I suppose.

i use chat application most in my youth because i have no friends irl i also found my spouse from marriage site. i'm a victim of isolation and loneliness by my narcissists design still i can break through and get my freedom, internet help my life.

Both my two(and only) ex gfs were found on forums when I was a teenager so im very fund of them, saddly the world of forum is dead, social networks killed it, back in the day you only needed a name, a bio and you were allowed to talk to anyone around the world, now you got facebook, instagram, twitter, in order to talk to somebody you are required to know them beforehand, having a social life to show, only talk to people close to your area, they must accept you, etc.

Sometimes in my darkest days, I think about diggin up some forums and try to get into that world again, even tho im 24 now and is weird, I will not pay to talk to random people that probably wont care for me anyways

Ha. I remember those days too. Back when people were actually willing to talk. Now it seems like nobody will talk to anyone they don’t already know, or anyone that doesn’t share the same opinion as they do. And most people seem to have the agenda of promoting themselves so they can make money and become “influencers”.

"MeetMe" imo is the best for finding chat buddies, even irls, though for me i had to go through like hundreds of chats to find a few dozen who arent creepy (or maybe they're just that good at hiding it lol). but nonetheless its a perfect time waster

Over the many years I have met people from chat websites. Many women, some I have gone on dates with and enjoyed their company. By that I mean I wanted to take it further but they cut it off after a few dates.

I have noticed that a lot of women I am meeting from Tinder, Okcupid, or Bumble have lots baggage, mental health problems, use drugs or just flake. Sometimes a combo of all of them.

I know I should not get in relationships with people like this but because I am so lonely I do. I want to be loved and I find it hard to connect and meet people organically because of my social anxiety. My ex girlfriend made me even more socially anxious by saying she was fine with my social anxiety then saying she wasn't fine with it.

Overall, I think online dating is probably the worst way to meet people. Women see you as disposable and are quick to write people off on date or so but thats society overall. People set stupidly high 'fairytale' expectations and then cut people off when they do not meet one specific expectation. Many who use dating websites appear to have lost contact with the real world. The only way to finding a loving stable, relationship or friendship is not by looking for sparks or vibes but looking for lasting connections.

Hope I haven't gone far off topic! It's late here, but yes I do use dating websites and will continue to for the foresable in the hope that I will find someone who wants a lasting connection.

I use chat apps and websites, but i never take them too seriously anymore like i did a few years ago. Because you can meet a "great" person, but after a while they'll delete/block you or become ultra weird as it's online based so they needn't worry about explaining themselves face to face lol. I hate ignorance anyway, but when it's an app or penpal site you just have to get used to people being rude or randomly vanishing. I've only met 1 person from the internet and it went very well thankfully, so i hope that trend continues when i see this person again at the weekend :D.

Don’t know where you are all finding people to chat with. Have tried so many chat apps and just get nothing, except the occasional scammer you can see through in a few minutes. But most of the time, just no replies or anything.

Dating sites are a godamned waste of time if you've got mental illness, a speech flaw, are male, and not good looking. It don't matter how much you butter up your profile, you'll be lucky if guys hit you up, and women won't..

Okcupid, Tinder, Tagged, Bumble to name a few.

Have used Okcupid and Tinder for years, and never found anyone willing to chat. Used Bumble for most of last year for the same results.

It only took me a couple of experiments with dating websites/aps to realize they're not for me. Like mentioned, for them to work (effectively anyway, getting you an actual date with a genuinely interested person - if that's the goal) you'll need the same qualities that work for most people in the "real world." I'd be getting my hopes up, uploading the best pics I could muster of myself lol, filling in all the nonsense about who I am and what I'm seeking, etc, only to be disappointed time after time. It's not necessarily the formats fault mind you, it's just the same poor luck many chronically single people like myself suffer from in the real world seems to follow you online too, at least when it comes to dating sites. Eventually I realized I was simply wasting precious time and worse than that, added rejections that just bring me down, so why bother. I avoid them now, not even just "to kill some time."

How about sticking with forum, chat rooms and social media plat forms, i find that socialising on forums can be very cathartic and simply, easy to do, i had to stay awy from facebook etc cos too many ******** in real life on there, i juat want my space lol

Forums and chat rooms can be just as bad as dating sites, at least in my experience. A few people will dominate the conversations, and if you don’t agree with them, or fit in to the perceived “norm” of the forum or chat room, you’re ignored or dismissed ... if not bullied off. And I tend to find most forums and chat rooms don’t really like someone new that they don’t know, or hasn’t been invited by someone already there.

Yes, the internet is supposed to an open and friendly place to meet new people .... but it hardly ever is.

At least with Tinder, OKCupid etc. you don't have to deal with gatekeepers and no-one can accuse you of having a hidden agenda, if a relationships is what you're looking for. It's hard not to notice the low effort of most people’s profiles: barely any bios detailing their interests or expectations, most were just a photo with maybe one badly spelled line that said nothing of note. I'm sure the men's accounts weren't much better. You get judged for being sleazy and swiping right on any vaguely attractive looking photo, but given the low likelihood of a match, plus the fact that a photo is all is there is to go on, I'm not sure what else can be expected. It's all basically photo.
